About MPO Online Bill Payment Service

MPO Online/Bill Payment Service allows you to schedule payments to merchants, review and change scheduled payments, and review payment history. MPO Online Bill Payment Service offers an alternative to the traditional method of paying bills. Instead of writing a check and mailing the payment to the merchant, you can handle all of the payments through MPO Online Bill Payment Service.

You can schedule payments to be made on certain dates. MPO Online Bill Payment Service provides a confirmation number for every payment and keeps track of your payment history. These features make MPO Online Bill Payment Service an excellent record keeper.

Paying bills involved the following

  • Set up your personal list of Payees:
In order for a payee to be added, you must be able to furnish the payee's name, your account number, address, and telephone number.

  • Once you have created the payee, select Quick Pay to enter the amount, the date, and the frequency (only once, weekly, every two weeks, etc.).

  • If you opt to set up a schedule of payments, you may view these selections by clicking on the Scheduled Payments link.

MPO Online/Bill Payment Service uses Automatic clearing House (ACH) to pay bills. While it is anticipated that most transactions will be processed on the day after you have selected the transmit payment date and arrive at its intended destination approximately five (5) business days after the transmit payment date (or sooner if the payee receives all electronic payment) it is understood that due to circumstances beyond the control of the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service, particularly delays in handling and posting payments by slow responding companies or financial institutions, some transactions may take a day or even a few days longer to post to your account with the designated payee. For this reason, it is recommended that all transmit Dates selected by you be a minimum of five (5) business days before the actual due date, not the late date and/or grace period. If you properly follow the procedures described herein, and the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service fails to send a payment according to the payment instructions received, the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service will bear responsibility for all late charges. In any other event, including but not limited to choosing a Scheduled Transmit Date which is not five (5) business days before the due date or on or past the due date stated on your invoice, the risk of incurring and responsibility for paying any and all late charges or penalties shall be borne by you.

The MPO Online/Bill Payment Service will use its best efforts to make all of your payments properly. However, the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service shall incur no liability if it is unable to complete any payments initiated by you through the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service because of the existence of any one or more of the following circumstances:

  • Your account does not contain sufficient funds to complete the payment or transfer.

  • The processing center is not working properly and you know or have been advised by the MPO Online Bill Payment Service about the malfunction before you execute the transaction.

  • The payee mishandles or delays a payment sent by the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service.

  • You have not provided the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service with the correct names or account information for those persons or entries to whom you wish to direct the payment.

  • Circumstances beyond the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service control (such as, but not limited to, fire, flood, interference from an outside force) prevent the proper execution of the transaction and the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service has taken reasonable precautions to avoid those circumstances.

Provided none of the forgoing exceptions to the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service performance obligations are applicable, if the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service causes an incorrect amount of funds to be removed from your transaction account or causes funds from your transaction account to be directed to a person or entity which does not comply with your payment instructions, the MPO Online/Bill Payment Service shall be responsible for returning the improperly transferred funds to your transaction account and for directing to the proper recipient any previously misdirected payments or transfers. The MPO Online/Bill Payment Service should not be used to pay government obligations such as taxes and court-directed payments since you may incur significant penalties as a result of late payments.

MPO Online/Bill Payment Service supports the following types of payments:

  • One time payment - The payment takes place on the date you specify.

  • Automatic payment - Payments occur starting on the date and as many times as you specify for up to 10 years.
Payments that are set up for future dates are called scheduled payments. These payments include one-time payments and automatic payments. The first payment date may be no more than 18 months in the future. Payments are processed on the scheduled date. Payments scheduled for non-business dates (such as January 1 or weekends) are processed on the next business day for one-time payments and on the previous business day for automatic payments.

The Scheduled Payments feature allows you to review scheduled payments (one-time and automatic) and change or delete a selected payment before the payment occurs.

You may change payment information depending on the type of scheduled payment:

  • One-time payment - you can change the amount and date of the payment and the financial account from which the payment is to be made.

  • Automatic payment - you can change the amount, next payment date, number of payments, frequency of payments, and the financial account from which the payments are to be made. The changes affect all future payments.

The Payment History feature allows you to find and review past payments by specifying the payment details. You may select which payment(s) you want to review. If you do not specify any criteria, all available payment history will be presented.

If you specify:

  • Payee - You will receive all payment history for that payee or merchant.
  • Payment dates - You will receive payment history from the start-date to the end-date specified.
  • Payment amount - You will receive all payment history within plus or minus $10 of the specified amount.
  • Confirmation number – Select Confirmation number from the list and enter the confirmation number in the box. You will receive detailed information for that specific item.

If you want to direct the search to a more restricted list of past payments, you may specify any combination of the payment details listed above.

There is no longer a monthly fee for MPO-ONLINE Bill Payment Service.
